A RE OLtTION ALLOCATING THE SUM OF $5,000
TO PARTLY DEFRAY THE COSTS OF JOINT SPOON=
SORSHIP OF THE FLORIDA LEGISLATIVE WEEKEND
TO BE HELD IN THE GREATER MIAMI AREA DECEM'
BER 2, 3 AND 4, 1976 UNDER THE AUSPICES OF
THE CIVIC GROUP KNOWN AS BICENTENNIAL LEGIS-
LATIVE APPRECIATION WEEK IS HEREBY ALLOCATED
FROM THE PUBLICITY AND TOURISM 1976-77 BUDGET.
WHEREAS, governmental entities throughout Florida
tie Sponsored and participated in legislative weekends to
hater positive, affirmative and effective relationships
between their citizens and leaders of the Florida Legislature,
who are invited to travel to the particular community during
the adjournment period of the Legislature; and
WHEREAS, this Commission finds and determines
sponsorship of a local legislative weekend is an

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
O' THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The sum of $5,000 to partly defray
the costs of joint sponsorship of the Florida Legislative
Weekend to be held in the Greater Miami Area December 2, 3
and 4, 1976 under the auspices of the civic group known as
Bicentennial Legislative Appreciation Week is hereby allo-
cated from the ublicity and Tourism 1976-77 Budget.

Dade County, along with the City of Miami and othet
Municipalities, have been asked to underwrite the Dade
Delegation Legislative Weekend in Miami.
Inasmuch as Dade County contributions to such activities
are restricted somewhat by State law whereas municipalities
are exempt, they have asked the City of Miami to handle
the transaction contribution for them.
The attached resolution from Dade County explains the
details. Under the joint City of Miami -Dade County
publicity and advertising agreement, the County previously
appropriated $500,000 for the joint tourism agreement.
This will merely increase the County's contribution to
$514,000.
