RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR
F FINANCE TO PAY ISABEL SUAREZ, WITHOUT
ADMISSION OF LIABILITY, THE SUM OF $1,000,00
IN FULL AND COMPLETE SETTLEMENT OF ALL
CLAIMS AND DEMANDS AGAINST THE CITY OF MIAMI,
UPON THE EXECUTION OF A RELEASE RELEASING
THE CITY OF MIAMI FROM ALL CLAIMS AND DEMANDS.
"`EREAS, ISAEEL SUAREZ, filed a claim against the
gay of Miami, for damages incurred in the amount of
42,500.00 by her attorney, Mr. S.O. Carson for injuries
incurred when she fell on a sidewalk owned and maintained
by the City of Miami on North Miami Avenue & Northwest lst
Street on December 9, 1975; and
WHEREAS, this claim has been investigated by the office
f the City Attorney and said office recommends that this
claim be settled for the sum of $1,000.00; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
'.OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA;
Section 1. That the Director of Finance be and
he is hereby authorized to pay to ISABEL SUAREZ, without
admission of liability, the sum of $1,000.00 in full and
complete settlement of all claims and demands against the
City of Miami, upon the execution of a release releasing
the City of Miami from all claims and demands.

Isabel Suarez Vs, City
Resolution
The City of Miami Law Department received a claim for
personal injuries from Mrs. Isabel Suarez who fell in
a hole in the crosswal'c (:n the (�.)r'nc•t_ or the North Miami
Avenue and Northwest lst Street, i iami, t'lorida on
December 9, 1975, at approximately 12:45 PM.
As a result of this accident., Mrs. Suarez sustained in-
juries to the area of her right leg.
Mrs. Suarez was treated by Drs. David Kirsch, E.W. Cullipher
and Benedict A. Cusani. Diagnosis given by the doctors was
that of: 1. Fracture of the right 5th metatarsal bone
2. right hallux valgus.
The total of Mrs. Suarez' specials amounted to $397.00.
Mrs. Suarez' attorney submitted a demand for $2,500.00
to settle this matter, however, after extensive negoti-
ations with Mr. Mario Santana, Legal Investigator of
the Law Department, claimant's attorney accepted the sum
of $1,000.00 in full and complete settlement of this claim.
Based upon the advise of both Mr. Santana and Mr. Jose B. Al-
varez, Deputy City Attorney oi this office and in view of the
considerably higher exposure To the City, it is my recommendation
that the claim be settled for the sum of $1,000.00.
