A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE EXCLUSIVE
USE OF A DESIGNATED AREA OF SEWELL PARK,
AS SPECIFIED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS
AND RECREATION, BY THE GIRL SCOUT COUNCIL
OF TROPICAL FLORIDA, INC., ON WEEKENDS
FROM FRIDAY TO SUNDAY, INCLUSIVE, EFFECTIVE
OCTOBER 1, 1976 THROUGH MAY 31, 1977, WITH
A WAIVER OF ALL USER FEES.

Section 1. Exclusive use of a designated area
of SEWELL PARK, as specified by the Department of Parks and
Recreation, by the GIRL SCOUT COUNCIL OF TROPICAL FLORIDA,
INC., on weekends from Friday to Sunday, inclusive, effective
October 1, 1976 through May 31, 1977, is hereby approved and
all fees for the use of said park area are hereby waived.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 18 day of NOVEMBER
1976.

On October 9, 1975, the City Commission waived the use fee
of Sewell Park for Girl Scout. Group use on Weekends during
the period of October 9, 1975 through May 29, 1976,
In that period of time over 500 girls from the Girl Scout Council
of Tropical Florida, Inc. made use of the park facility which
is located on the Miarni River. Many of the troops using the
Park were from low income areas.
The Council requests continuation of their programmed use
of Sewell Park on weekends with waiver of the useage fee
retroactive to October 1, 1976 through May 31, 1977. The
Council. also requests fee waiver over the next five (5) year
period,
Based on the successful operation of this Program and the fine
cooperation from all parties concerned, the Department is
pleased to recommend the waiver of fee through May 31, 1977.
