FE$RUARY 18, 19 AND 20, 1977, CLOSING;
THE FOLLOWING STREETS TO THROUGH TRAFFIC
ON SAID DATES DURING SPECIFIED HOURS,
AND ESTABLISHING A TEMPORARY PEDESTRIAN
MALL OF MAIN HIGHWAY FROM CHARLES AVENUE
TO INTERSECTION OF McFARLANE AND FROM McFARLANE
TO INTERSECTION OF SOUTH BAYSHORE DRIVE
AND COMMODORE PLAZA AND FULLER PLACE;
WAIVING THE FEES AND GRANTING PERMISSION
FOR THE USE OF COCONUT GROVE PEACOCK PARK,
WAIVING THE RENTAL FEE FOR USE OF THE LARGE
CITY SHOWMOBILE, SUBJECT TO PAYMENT BY COCONUT
GROVE ASSOCIATION,INC. OF THE DIRECT COSTS OF
SETTING UP AND RE'IOVING SAID SHOWMOBILE; AND
ALLOCATING $500 FROM THE SPECIAL REIMBURSEMENT
FUNDS RECEIVED BY THE CITY UNDER PUBLIC LAW
92-500 FOR THE PURCHASE OF AN AWARD WINNING
ART WORK.
WHEREAS, the Coconut Grove Association, Inc.
has requested assistance in connection with the Annual
Coconut Grove Arts Festival 1977;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
.OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. In order to establish a temporary

Section 3. The rental fee for use of the large
City snowmobile is hereby waived, subject to payment of the
direct costs involved in setting up and removing said showmo-
`ile.
Section 4. The sum of $500 is hereby allocated
from the Special Reimbursement Funds received by the City
under Public Law 92-500 for the purchase of an award winning
art work.

"hhe Coconut Grove Association, Inc. is planning to have the 1977
Coconut Grove Arts Festival on February 18, 19 and 20, 1977 and
has requested the closing of portions of Main Highway, Commodore
Plaza, Fuller Place and McFarlane Road to through traffic during
this period. The streets; and time!-; of closing are the same as
those authorized for the 1976 festival. Arrangements have been

with the Miami Police Department, Fire Department, Public Properties,
and Parks and Recreation. Further coordination conferences will be
arranged in early 1977 with the City departments involved for
detailed planning of this event.
The Coconut Grove Association, Inc. has requested the free use of
Coconut Grove Peacock Park and the administration building to be
used for cultural activities and free use of the large showmobile,
subject to payment of direct costs involved in setting up and the
removal.
In conjunction with the festival, the City will provide equipment
and personnel prior to and shott!y after the event for installation
and removal of overhead banners. Park Rangers and Public Service
Aides will be provided as needed and Coconut Grove Association, Inc.
will pay for the services of eight off -duty Police Officers and two
Sergeants during the entire festival time.
The City has been requested to make available the sum of $500 for
the purchase of an award winning art work.
It is recommended that a resolution be adopted temporarily closing
the streets as requested, granting permission and waiving the fee
for use of Peacock Park and the administration building; waiving
the rental fee for the large showmobile; and allocating $500.00
