HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-76-1012RE OL iT ON NO, 76-1012 A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING GREEN FEES FOR PHE NORTH -SOUTH GOLF TOURNAMENT TO BE HELD FEBRUARY 8 THROUGH 12, 1977, AT THE MIAMI SPRINGS GOLF COURSE AND REQUIRING USE OP AN ELECTRIC CART BY EACH GOLFER IN SAID TOURNAMENT. WHEREAS, the City of Miami has granted free U80 pia Miami Springs Golf Course to the North -South Golf ourtiarnent in past years; and WHEREAS, the North -South Golf Tournament is con- tinuing the practice of awarding scholarships from their pro oeeds to deserving young students; and WHEREAS, Tournament prizes will be purchased at the Pro Shop, and the Clubhouse facilities Sively; and will be used exten- WHEREAS, due to increased costs, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends that Green Fees for this Tourna- ment be set at $3 per player per round, and the use of an electric cart be required; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. Green Fees for the North -South Golf Tournament to be held February 8 through 12, 1977, at the Miami Springs Golf Course are hereby established in the amount of $3 per player per round, with each player required to use an electric cart. The City had, until last year, waived the greens fees for this Tournament. A: the ?.976 Tournament, the fee was $2.00 per player, per round. This year we are recommending that thy' greens fees be increased to $3.00 per player, per routed. The Tournament Director is continuing the policy of awarding scholarships to deserving young students; this has been verified. The Pro Shop will be utilized for prizes and Clubhouse used for banquets. The North...South Tournament has been with the City for many years, and. it brings in }nany people to Miami. Our participation has helped the Miami Springs Golf Course in increasing more play by both residents and touri sts who played in the Tournament for the first time.
