THE CITY OF t1tAMI FOR THE PURPOSE OF TAXATION; FIXING THE ILLAG€ AND LEVYING TAXES IN THE CITY OF t1I,AMt, FLORIDA, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR DEGINNING OCTOBER 14 1976, AND ENDING SEPTEMBER SO, 1977, PROVIDING THAT IF ANY SECTION, CLAUSE OR SUBSECTION SHALL DE DECLARED UNCONSTITUTIONAL, IT SHALL NOT AFFECT THE REMAINING PROVISIONS, WHEREAS, the City of Miami estimates that the non-exempt {aggregate valuation of taxable property, both real,and personal, in the. City of Miami , Florida, for the year beginning . October 1 , 197G, and ending September 30, 1977, is S3,789,137,846; and WHEREAS, at an election held September 7, 1925,•the City of Miami did annex _ce,rtain territory unincorporated at: the time of such election, and did annex certain other territory incorporated at the time of such elec- tion, and from time to time other territory has been included in the City limits of the City of Miami by legislative acts; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION' OF THE CtTY OF h1IAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. For the purpose of this ordinance "The City of Ilicrr,i" is defined to be, includes, and designates the City of Miami as it now exists with the extended territorial limits, Secticn'2. There shall be, and hereby. is, levied upon the non-exempt assessed value of all property, both real and personal, in the City . of, Miaeni as described in Sectio►r 1 hereof, taxes at the rates sroYri below for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 1976, and ending Septcatber 30,, 1977, for the following purposes': (1) A tax of 5.623 mills on the dollar for the.Cerieeal fund to support and Carry on the governnieht of the City of Mi aini 1 (2) Atax of 341 dills on the dollar to pay for 'street lighting of the City. (3) A tax of ,239 Mills on the dollar to provide a publicity fund 129 mills on the dollar to provide A tax of 3. vide for the requirements of the pension fund of the City.. (5) A tax of2,311 mills on the dollar to provide for the payment ofmaturing principal and interest, and charges and requirements related thereto, of indebtedness incur- red subsequent to the adoption of the Homestead Exemption Amendment to the Constitution of the State of Florida, and subject to the terms thereof. These millages total 11.903 mills. Section 3, If any. section, part of section, paragraph or clause of this ordinance shall be held to be unconstitutional or void, the remaining provisions of this ordinance shall, nevertheless, remain in full force and effect.
