Sealed bids were receiveci on September 7, 1976 for
improvements to the City Cemetery located at Me E. 2
AVenue and 18 Street. The bids included an ornamental
Wrought iron fence, curbing and resurfacing of the
driveway through the cemetery ;rid an allowance for
unforseen contingencies.
Although the bid for the road work was excessive, a
comp ati ti_ve bid price was received for the ornamental
fencing. Landscaping and cleanup projects are in progress
at the cemetery and when improvements to the drive are
required, they will be accomplished either by rebidding
or by City forces.
The project has been discussed with the Directors of
Parks and Recreation and Public Works, and they jointly
recommend that the road work be deleted and a contract
awarded for the fence and expense provisions only.
It is recommended that a resolution be adopted awarding
a contract to the low bidder, O.S.B. Construction, Inc.,
in the amount of $16,748.50 for Items #1 and #3 of the
bids received for the City Cemetery Improvements.
