RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF CENTRAL
OONCRETE OF MEDLEY, INC. FOR FURNISHING
READY -MIX CONCRETE, AS REQUIRED, ON A
CONTRACT BASIS FOR ONE YEAR FROM DATE
OF AWARD TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS,
AT A BASE PRICE OF $19 PER CUBIC YARD, AT
A PROPOSED COST OF $79,000; SUBJECT TO
AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS THEREFOR IN THE
1976-77 ANNUAL APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE, AS
ADOPTED; AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE
CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE PURCHASING
DEPARTMENT TO ISSUE PURCHASE ORDERS AS
NEEDED.
WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids
were received August 30, 1976 for the furnishing of Ready -Mix
Concrete to the Department of Public Works for a period of one.
year from the date of award; and
WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to 17 potential
suppliers and 4 bids were received; and
WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in
the 1976-77 Fiscal Year Budget; and
WHEREAS, these materials will be used by the Depart-
ment of Public Works for the purpose of sidewalk and other con-
crete repairs; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Department of
Public Works recommend that the bid received from Central
Concrete of Medley, Inc. be accepted as it: is the most advan-

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COmmISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The August 30, 1976 bid of Central Con-
crete of Medley, Inc, for furnishing the Department of Public
'Works with Ready -Mix Concrete, as required, for a period of one
year from date of award, at a base price of. $19 per cubic yard,
t a total cost of $79,000 is hereby accepted, subject to avail-
ability of funds therefor in the 1976-77 annual appropriation
ordinance, as adopted,

Suat:t to Public Notice, sealed bids were received
•Mgust 30, 1976 for furnishing Ready -Mix Concrete for
the Department of Public Works, as required, for a
period of one year on contract from date of award.
Invitations were mailed to seventeen (17) potential
suppliers and four (4) bids were received as follows:

The concrete is used in sidewalk and other concrete
repairs in street right-of-way and is needed on a
"year round" basis.
It is requested that the a:;ard ne rnade and a resolution
be prepared accepting the lowest bid as received from
Central Concrete of :Medley, Inc. for furnishing Ready-
i•iix Concrete, as required, for a period of one year on
contract from date of award at a base price of $19.00
per cubic yard, and an estimated total cost of $79,000.
Tiie Department of Public Works concurs with this
recommendation.
