IN THE PROPOSED AMOUNT OF $.56,500 FOR THE IRRIGATION SYSTEM COMPONENT OF THE OLD BAYFRONT PARK DEVELOPMENT - PHASE I (ELECTRICAL AND IRRIGATION SYSTEMS) BID "A", AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH SAID FIRM, SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS THEREFOR UNDER TITLE X FEDERAL PUBLIC WORKS GRANT PROGRAM. WHEREAS, sealed bids were received October by the OLD BAYFRONT PARK DEVELOPMENT - PHASE I (ELECTRICAL AND IRRIGATION SYSTEMS); and WHEREAS, the City Manager reports that the $156.500 :bid of Harold G. Jaffer, Inc. is the lowest responsible bid for BID "A" (irrigation system component) and recommends that a contract be awarded to said firm; and WHEREAS, funds are available under the Title X Federal Public Works Grant Program for the proposed amount of the contract, for project expense, and for such items as adver- tising, testing laboratories and postage; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE "DOCUMENT INU � COMMISSION. _ OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: ITEM NO I 'P Section 1. The October 15, 1976 bid of Harold G. Jaffer, Inc. in the proposed amount of $156,500 for the irriga- tion system component for the project entitled OLD BAYFRONT PARK DEVELOPMENT - PHASE I (ELECTRICAL AND IRRIGATION SYSTEMS; namely, BID "A" of. Proposal, based on lump sum bid is hereby accepted at the price stated therein, subject to the condition stated below. Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract on behalf of the City of Miami with Harold G. October, 1976, in the City Clerk's office, First Floor of the Miami City Hall, 3500 Pan American Drive, Dinner Key, Miami, Florida 33133, a.t which tune and, place they will be publicly opened and read. The project consists of i;he installation of a potable water supply and lawn sprinkler systems and the construction of a complete electrical system, including new telephone conduit at the old 13ay fr. ont. Park site, Aids may be offered on any one or both of the following categories: potable water and lawn sprinkler systems or electri- cal system. All bids shall be submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and Specifications. Plans and Specifi- cations may be obtained from the Office of the Director, Department of Public Works, 3332 Pan American Drive, Miami, Florida. Plans and specifi cati.onei are to he returned in good condition and unmarked within 30 days after bids have been received. Proposal includes the time of performance and Specifica- tions contain provisions for liquidated damages for failure to complete the work on time.
