Pursuant to your request September 21 st, we have discussed the pixobtern involving
Avis Rent-A-Car System, Inc. Agencyis location in the downtown area with:NAr.
'Ce R. Wilson, legal counsel and with Avis personnel.
Based on our analysis, it is recommended that the C-3 toning district be amended
to permit rental car agencies in the.downtown area. This use is needed to serve
,.tourists and business persons.
We will prepare this amendment within the next few days and place it on the
Planting Advisory Board Agenda. of October 20th for a workshop follov.,�d by a
public hearing on November 17. Assuming no difficulty with these two dates
and hearings, it would then he ready for the City Commission agenda of
December 15.
A personal appearance before the City Commission is unnecessary as the City
Commission will ultimately make the final decision on the amendment. We have
informed Mr. Wilson of our recommendation and he concurs that a personal
appearance is not necessary unless otherwise determined by the admir:istration.
