A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR
OP FINANCE TO ACCEPT THE SUM OF $571.97
IN FULL AND COMPLETE SETTLEMENT IN THE
CLAIM OF THE CITY VERSUS MAXY ALEXIS AND
INDUSTRIAL FIRE & CASUALTY INSURANCE CO;
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND THE
CITY CLERK OF THE CITY OF MIAMI TO EXECUTE
A RELEASE RELEASING MAXY ALEXIS AND INDUSTRIAL
FIRE & CASUALTY COMPANY FROM ANY AND ALL
CLAIMS AND DEMANDS ARISING OUT OF THE
ACCIDENT INVOLVED IN THE ABOVE CLAIM.
WHEREAS, a claim has been filed by the City of Miami
ainst MAX? ALEXIS and INDUSTRIAL FIRE & CASUALTY INSURANCE
04 as a result of a collision between a City of Miami vehicle
and an automobile owned by Mr. Alexis; and
WHEREAS, an offer of settlement on behalf of MAXY ALEXIS
and INDUSTRIAL FIRE & CASUALTY INSURANCE CO. has been made to the
City of Miami, which offer is in the amount of S571.97; and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney of the City of Miami has
advised that it is in the best interest of the City of Miami to
accept said offer of $571.97 in full and complete settlement of
the above claim;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Director of Finance is hereby authorized
and directed to accept the sum of $571.97 in full and complete
settlement in the claim of the City of Miami versus MAXY ALEXIS
and INDUSTRIAL FIRE & CASUALTY INSURANCE CO., and the City Manager
and the City Clerk of the City of Miami are authorized to execute
a release releasing MAXY ALEXIS and INDUSTRIAL FIRE & CASUALTY
INSURANCE CO. from any and all claims and demands arising out ry

In the following claim a tv for vehicle owned by Maxy Alexis a.nd
insured by Industrial Fire & Casualty Insurance Co. was involved
in an accident with a motor vehicle owned by the City of Miami.
This accident took place on April 6, 1975 at Northwest 2nd Avenue
and Northwest 48th Street, Miami, Florida. The City vehicle was
proceeding south:;.srdly on N.W. 2nd Avenue and Mr. Alexis' vehicle
was proc:_�edinnorthward v on the same street whenhe made a left
turn in front of the City vehicle, cnusing the cars to collide,
Damage to he City vehicle is in the amount of $02.19. In

Industrial Fire cis Casualty Insurance Co. his offered to pav the
City 8571.97 in full and complete settlement of the City's claim.
Based on the recommendation of Eugene M. Steinfeld, Assistant
City Attorney, I recommend that the above offer be accepted in
full and complete settlement of this property damage claim.
