A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ENLARGEMENT
OF THE SCOPE AND AN INCREASE IN THE AMOUNT
OF $33,000 IN THE COST OF THE CONTRACT WITH
LOWELL DUNN COMPANY FOR THE VIRGINIA KEY
FILL - PHASE II - 1976 PROJECT FOR EXCAVATION
AND HAULING OF ADDITIONAL FILL MATERIAL; AND
ALLOCATING THE ,AMOUNT OF.$33.,000 THEREFOR FROM
THE ACCOUNT ENTITLED '"POLLUTION CONTROL &,INCIN�
ERATOR FACILITIES BOND FUND."
WHEREAS, . sealed bids were received May
ie VI-RGINIA KEY FILL PHASE II - 1976.; and
WHEREAS, the contractor has completed the work to
performed under the original contract and there remains between
50,000 and 60,000 yards of additional material that can be used
at the Virginia Key landfill site; and
WHEREAS, the contractor has agreed to excavate and
haul this added material at the bid price of $0.538 per cubic
yard; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in the account entitled
"Pollution Control & Incinerator Facilities Bond Fund" to cover
this increase in scope and cost of the contract;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. An enlargement of the scope and an increase
in the cost in the amount of $33,000 of the contract with Lowell
Dunn Company for the Virginia Key Fill - Phase II - 1976 project
for excavation and hauling of additional fill material is hereby

from the account entitled "Pollution Control & Incinerator Facili-
ties Bond Fund" to fund the aforesaid enlargement of the scope..
and cost of the aforesaid contract.

Mr. Moss has di:icussed the j)lercoc with the Director of
Public Works. Mr. Grimm concurs that this will probably
be the last fill available on Virginia Key and recommends
the increase in scope.
It is recommended that a resolution be adopted authorizing
an increase in scope in the amount of $33,000 to the Virginia
Xey Fill - Phase II - B-4402 contract, and appropriating the
necessary funds from the "Pollution Control & Incinerator
Bonds Fund."
