RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH METROPOLIS
TAN DADE COUNTY, THROUGH THE MANPOWER
PLANNING CONSORTIUM OF DADE AND MONROE
COUNTIES RATIFYING THE CITY'S IMPLEMENTATION
OF PHASE II OF THE 1976 SUMMER TEEN EMPLOYMENT

. WHEREAS, the City of Miami operated a• Summer Teen-.
Einpi'oyment Program during the Summer of 1976; and
..WHEREAS, 190 jobs were available for high school
dropouts and unemployed high school graduates between the ages
of 16 and 21 who are residents of the City of Miami; and
WHEREAS, participants in the program worked a
maximum of 25 hours per week for 5 weeks at $2.30 per hour;
`and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami is now eligible to receive
U.S. Department of Labor funds for its operation of Phase II of
the 1976 Summer Teen Employment Program ending September 30,
1976;

enter into an agreement with Metropolitan Dade County, through
the Manpower Planning Consortium of Dade and

period of 5 weeks. These City residents will work in various City departments
and non-profit agencies. They will be carried on Dade County's payroli.
