HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-76-0903Rt8mLUT.ON No. 76403 ISODUTION REALLOCATING ANY UNEXPENDED FUNDS PROM PREVIOUSLY ALLOCATED MONIES FOR THE CON STRUCTtON OF THE MIAMI MODERN POLICE HEADQUARTER `$UILDING UNDER RESOLUTION No. 74-1205 UPON THE E'INAL AND COMPLETE PAYMENT OF THE CONSTRUCTION COST OF SAID BUILDING AS COMPUTED BY THE DIRECTOR OF THE FINANCE DEPARTMENT AND SUBJECTING THE EXPENDITURE OF ANY UNEXPENDED FUNDS HEREUNDER TO THE HEPPROVISL OIONSTHE OFCITY THE CCOMMISSION, CHARTERAS ANDECUIREb CODE. BY THE WHEREAS, approximately $18,000 will remain unexpended iter all the financial obligations are met under Resolution NO, 74-1205 for the construction of the Miami Modern Police Headquarter Building; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF i1Dl.Vl�•,r, •,.:I.. THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: ITEM NO. Section 1. Upon final and complete payment of all'finan- 1t cial obligations of the City under Resolution No. 74-1205, which provided for the construction of the Miami Modern Police Headquarter Building, the balance of the unexpended funds, if any, as computed by the Director of the Finance Department are hereby reallocated to pay anticipated expenses arising from the initial facilities occupancy experience with the expendi- ture of any such reallocated funds subject to the approval of the City Commission, as required by the provisions of the City Charter and Code. On April 221 1975 Resolution ov, 5-384 was passed by the City Commission allocating $2,052,000 fbrthe construction of a parking garage. • • •• Resolution No. 74-1205 set aside 8555000 to cover incidental expenses. Of that amount it is anticipated that approximate7y $18,000 will be unexpended when all the financial obligations are met. Of that amount, it is anticipated that approxi- mately $27,000 will be unexpended when all the financial obligations are met. It is requested that these savings in the amount of approximately $145,000 be re -allocated to establish a Mani Modern Police Department building, equipmeht, and furnishings incidentals account. This account is requested to be established in anticipation of final building adjustments, equipment, and furnishings incidental needs which will become apparent as the Police Department gains occupancy experience in the new facilities. These needs could not have been previously anticipated because they will be in the nature of project completion incidentals that can be learned only as the result of "living" in the facilities. If the foregoing concept meets with your approval, it is requested that the Law Department formulate a resolution for City Commission consideration that would accomplish the following: 1. When all financial obligations under Resolution No. 74-1205 are met to the satisfaction of the Finance Department, that the unexpended funds, as determined by the Director of the Finance Department, be re -allocated to a Miami Modern Ponce Department building, equipment, and furnishings incidentals account. - ) Xeith P.
