P; RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE COMPLETED WORI{
OP A. D. i4. , INC. FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OP
MINI MODERN POLICE HEADQUARTERS - 1974
AT A TOTAL COST OF $5,472,991; AUTHORIZING
AN ADDITIONAL INCREASE IN THE COST OF THE
CONTRACT IN THE NET AMOUNT OF $2,391;
AUTHORIZING AN EXTENSION OF 44 DAYS OVERRUN
OF CONTRACT TIME; AND AUTHORIZING, AFTER ALL
ADJUSTMENTS, A FINAL PAYMENT OF $325,444.50
TO A.D.H., INC.
WHEREAS, there exists a contract dated October 23, 1574
tWeen the City of Miami and A.D.H., Inc. for the construction of
hd Miami Modern Police Headquarter Building; and
WHEREAS, the work has been satisfactorily completed and
tib.11.0 Inc. has furnished the required documents certifying that
1.i bills for labor and materials have been paid in full in con-
nection w;.th the aforesaid contract; and
WHEREAS, the original contract amount was $5,440,600,
and on June 9, 1976 by Resolution No. 76-583 the City Commission
authorized an increase in the cost of the contract of $30,000; and
WHEREAS, due to work for the Communications Center not
included in the original contract it is necessary for an addi-
tional increase in the cost of the contract in the net amount of
$2,391, making the completed contract amount $5,472,991; and
WHEREAS, funds for the additional increase are available
:from the Incidental Account established for this project; and
WHEREAS, due to time extensions requested by the con-
tactor and to the necessary retention of the contractor at the
site to complete additional work on the firing range and dog kennel,
there were 44 days

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TIE COMMISSION OF THE

Section 2. Due to work for the Communicationt (:ehtet

Section 3. Due to time extensions requested by the
contractor and the necessaryretention of the contractor at the
site to complete additional work on the firing range and dog
kennel, a total of 44 days overrun of contract time is hereby
authorized.
Section 4. The proper officials of the City of Miami
are hereby authorized and directed to pay A.D.H., Inc. a balance
of $325,444.50 as full and final payment for all work performed
and all materials furnished for the construction of Miami Modern
police Headquarters - 1974.

revised the original contract amount to $5,470,600. The actual
construction cost was $5,472)991 which is $2,391 in excess of the
• reVised contract amount. The overrun of contract in the amount of
$2,391 was due to necessary work for the Communications Center. The
City Monazer approved the additional increase in the scope of the
Contract and the transfer of -''.1rids for this overrun nending
subsequent ratification by the City Commission at the time of final
payment. There ar,- sufficient funds in the incidental account
established for this projec47, to cover the overrun of $2,391.
Due to tiro extensions requested by the Contractor and to the
necessary retention of the Contractor at the site to complete
additional work on the firing, range and dog kennel, there was 44
days overrun of contract ti'me.
It should be noted that another contract for the Parking Garage
and Site Work at the Miami Modern Police Headquarters was
completed for $27,311 less than the contract amount and that both
the Headquarters Puilding and Parking Garage projects were completei
for less than the total amounts allocated for both projects.
