Miami Springs Golf Cart Rental
hEFLF1P• CF.S:
ENCLOSURES:
On April. 8, 1976, the City Commission adopted Ordinance 8542
authorizing a special summer combined greens fee and cart
rental rate of SlO.00 for both the Mi-iini Springs and the Ivlelreese
Golf Courses.
At the Melreese Golf Course, the Parks and Recreation Depart-
ment operates the electric golf carts. llawever, at the Miami
Springs Golf Course, the electric carts are owned and operated
by the golf professional, Mr. Ralph Alien. The City of Miami
receives 40Te of Mr. Allen's cart rental gross receipts.
Mr. Allen's contract with ti ( City, for the operation of the golf
carts, states he will reimburse the City 40iu of his gross sales.
To effectuate Ordinance 8542, it is necessary to waive this 40u
rental charge. The Parks and Recreation Director and Mr.
Allen have agreed to waive the 40Q, requirement for the summer
months of May 1st through November 30th, retroactive to
May 1, 1976.
The summer golf package at the City of Miami Golf Courses was
initiated to increase the volume of play, thereby providing the
City with more revenue.
It is now in order for the City Commission to waive the 40% golf
cart rental, for the summer special, from May 1, 1976 through
November 30, 1976, retroactive to May 1, 1976.
THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION RECOMMENDS
THE ADOPTION OF THHE ATTACHED RESOLUTION.
