ENCLOSURES
At your request, the 510,000.00 previously allocated to the Hispanic Community
Project, under the Federal Revenue Sharing, Social Services allocation for
1975-76, has been reviewed for reallocation in accord with two requests.
The first request, for a total of S10,000.0J0, is to acquire a new wheelchair bus,
by Action Community Center, Inc.; the second request is for S6,900.00 in order
to continue Hot Meals Programs by Little Havana Activity Center.
The request by Action Community Center, Inc. would essentially provide a means
to expand existing service, and is not a requirement for continued operation -
at the present time. The request from Little Havana Activity Center is, in fact,
a requirement related to continued operation. And, based upon assurances from
the Program Director that all alternative sources of funding have been exhausted,
the withholding of the S6,900.00 could cause a termination in Hot Meals for the
Elderly until additional funding is secured. The Program Manager for Little
Havana Activity Center advises that the shortfall occurred due to the attempt,
by the Agency, to satisfy Hot 'teal requirements within the City in excess of
that which had been originally planned. This request, then, is non -reoccurring
in nature.
Therefore, it is recommended that S6,900.00 of the S10,000.00 available be re -
appropriated for use by Little Havana Activity Center in order to ensure the
continuation of the Hot Meals Program through the end of September, 1976.
