Landscaping of N.E. 4 Court between `4 and 7'1 Streets has been completed by Tropical Landscape Co, at a cost of :36,543.)0 which was within the contract amount. It is now appropriate for tie Commission to accept the completed work and authorize final payment, after all conditions are met. 16. The rebuilding of N.R. 59 Street between N.E. 2 - 4 Avenues and N.E. 3 Avenue between N.E. 58 - 59 Terraces las been completed by Almar Con- struction Corporation for $24,010.51, which was within the contract amount, and it was completed on time. It is now in order for the Commission to accept the completed work and authorize Tina; payment, after all conditions are met. 17. The construction of drains and a drailage system between N.W. 18 - 27 Avenues in the vicinity of N.W. 20 - 32 Streets has been completed by D.M.P. Corporation at a cost of $383,928.06, which as within the contract amount, and it was completed on time. It is low in order for the Commission to accept the completed work and authorize final payment, after all conditions are met. 18. Bids have been received for improvements at Moore Park. Those bids required that the insurance carrier issuing tl2 performancc bond have a financial rating of A+AAA. To qualify Metro Cc?tractors Co., Inc., a minority contractor provided a performance bona from an insurance carrier possessing a B+BB+ financial rating. In keeping with the City's intention to assist minority contractors in performing work for the City, it is appropriate for the City Commission to waive the requirement of A+AAA financial rating of the insurance carrier and accept the B+BB+ financial rating submitted by Metro Contractors Co., Inc. 19. R 76-781 20. R 76-782 Rex Engraving of Miami, Inc. and Julies Mi11Er, et al, owners of 5-foot wide strips of reserved zoned width right-)f-way zbutting the subject avenue agreed to dedicate this property in exchange for the construction by the City of sidewalk therein. This would be comiatible with the City's Garden Highway Improvement now scheduled to )e completed at this portion of N.W. 24 Avenue. .he owners have executed ind delivered to the City, Highway Right -of -Way Deeds conveying the aforsaid strips of land. Ernesto T. Gonzalez and Edith T. Gonzalez, as owners, executed and delivered a Highway Right -of -Way Deed of Dedicazicn conveying to the City of Miami the East 20 feet of Lot 2, in Block 3, of Andre's Resubdivision of a part of Pearson's Subdivision in the City )f Miami, Florida. This dedication was granted because it was made as a c rndition to the owner being granted a variance from the City of Miami 7.on;ng Board to permit construction of a duplex residence at the subject sit.. It is appropriate for the City Com- mission to authorize the City ?' nager. to execute an agreement with Metropolitan Dade County amending previous reFolutions to provide for the correct contract amount of $4,133,140.00. 32. The Downtown Development Autho ity has submitted their 1976-1977 prof osed budget to the City Commission .nd it is appropriate for the City Commission to set public hearings on the latter for September 23, 1976 and 0ctoLer. 14, 1976. 35. Bids were received from two suppliers for furnish ing the Fire Department with 680 pairs of Fire Fighter s Gloves. Safety Equipment Company of Florida submitted the lowest bid ($6,3'12). It is appropriate for the City Commission to accept that bid. 36. R 76-798 37. R 76-799 38. R 76-800 On August 5, 1976, the City received bids to widen the existing boat ramp at Morningside Park. Thelowest responsible bid for t)tal bid of proposal based on unit prices was submitted br Ebsary Foundation Co. It is appropriate to accept the bid of Ebsary Foundation Co., and allocate from Public Parks and Recreational Facilities Bond Fund; $49,950 for the boat ramp extension; $999 to cover such items as adverti.;ing; $1,800 for 1800 cubic yards of material dredged from State-owned subme•ged land, and authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract to accomplish the work. Bids were received August 11, 976, to build all-purpose courts, baseball back - top and fencing, and relocate ighting and playground equipment at Allapattah- Comstock Park. The Bid of T. N. Construction Company ($37,500) was the lowest responsible bid and it s appropriate to authorise the City Manager to execute the contract with T. & N. Construction Company to accomplish the work and to allocate from Public Parks & Recreational Facilities Bond Fund $37,500 to cover the cost of c( nst:ruction; $4,125 to cover the cost of project expense; and $750 to cover the cost of advertising, testing laboratories and postage. T. & N.
