WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received August 24, 1976 for the modernization of the "EASTERN" Elevator at the Orange Bowl for the Department of Public Facilities; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to 9 potential suppliers and 2 bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this project are available in the 1975-76 operating budget, Reserve for Improvements; and WHEREAS, the "EASTERN" Elevator was installed approximately 23 years ago and is used primarily by media personnel assigned to the 3rd floor press box and is also used by stadium personnel in their assigned duties, concession employees for emergency deliveries to upper stands and by handicapped persons, with special permission, to reach itbe r UM.-N,, seats in the upper deck; and ITEM r'.n WHEREAS, the Miami Building Department, in a memo dated March 18, 1976, has declared: "The small elevator at the Orange Bowl is in very bad condition and should be replaced", and the aforesaid elevator is presently out of service, and is a vital supplement to the two elevators servicing the upper press box; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Department of Public Facilities recommend that the bid of Miami Elevator Company for the modernization of the "EASTERN" Elevator at CITY CtivgfilI Sh 0N MEE (NG Of $EP 9 1976 itFBOLLMOn NO,.c .,......�?��..1. the Orange Bowl be accepted as it is the lowest responsible bid td the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The August 24, 1976 bid of Miami Elevator Company for modernization of the "EASTERN" Elevator at the Orange Bowl is hereby accepted at a total cost of $23,353, with funds therefor hereby allocated from the 1975-76 operating budget, Reserve for Improvements.
