HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-76-0759PC/rb 7/20/76 "SU?T5Cfre\IIE 27, Dr.( •� RESOLUTION NO. 76-759 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO TRANSFER $1,000 FROM THE CONTINGENCY FUND TO THE APPROPRIATE ACCOUNT TO REIMBURSE BOBBY DYKES AND ALVIN GOODMAN, MEMBERS OF THE BOXING AND WRESTLING BOARD OF THE CITY OF MIAMI EQUALLY FOR THEIR TRAVEL, FOOD AND LODGING EXPENSES INCURRED IN ATTENDING THE WORLD BOXING ASSOCIATION CONVENTION IN WASHINGTON, D.C., ON AUGUST 24 1976. WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 4-31 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, all amateur and professional "boxing and wrestling exhibitions, contests, encounters or shows, and all persons in any manner interested, connected or participating therein, shall be subject to the rules, regula- tions and decisions of the boxing and wrestling board" of the City of Miami, Florida, which Board "shall from time to time prescribe for the conduct of such exhibitions, contests, encounters or shows"; and WHEREAS, rules for participation in both amateur and professional boxing are laid down, amended, rescinded, interpreted and discussed at the Convention of the World Boxing Association; and WHEREAS, attendance by members of the Boxing and Wrestling Board of the City of Miami at the aforesaid Conven- tion permits the sport of boxing to be carried on within the City of Miami in accordance with the official rules prescribed by the World Boxing Association and thereby allows those athletes participating therein to gain recognition and honor "DOCUMENT INDEX for themselves and the City of Miami; NOW, THEREFORE, BE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1.
