Home My WebLink AboutR-76-0725RPC/rb 7/2O/76 grAlp ' jiVE n RESOLUTION NO. 76-725 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF CENTRAL OIL ASPHALT CORPORATION FOR FURNISHING THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS WITH EMULSIFIED ASPHALT, AS NEEDED, ON A CONTRACT BASIS FOR ONE YEAR FROM DATE HEREOF, AT A COST NOT TO EXCEED $58,000; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM THE 1975-76 AND 1976-77 FISCAL YEAR BUDGETS; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE PURCHASING DEPARTMENT TO ISSUE PURCHASE ORDERS, AS NEEDED. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received June 29, 1976 for furnishing emulsified asphalt, as needed, on a contract basis for one year from date hereof for the Department of Public Works; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to 15 potential suppliers and 3 bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are provided in the 1975-76 and 1976-77 I•'iscal Year Budgets; and WHEREAS, emulsified asphalt is used by the Opera- tions Division of the Public Works Department on a routine basis in sealing street surfaces, preventing potholes and preserving "DOCUMENT INDEX WHEREAS the City Manager and th,ment of Public Works recommend that the bid of Central Oil Asphalt Corporation for furnishing approximately 200,000 gallons of emulsified asphalt, as needed, on a contract basis for one year from date hereof at a cost not to exceed $58,000 be accepted as it is the most advan- tageous bid to the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The emulsion is used on a routine basis in sealing asphaltic street surfaces city-wide. This is a r.e_;ular purchase and is funded in the budget using funds ::lade available in Codes 6.151.10.3130 and 6.151.03.31. It is used to prevEnt pothole's in the pavement and to preserve the street surfaces. Public Works, Operations Division's crews apply the mate- rial..
