RESOLUTION NO. 76-723
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID RECEIVED
FROM BISCAYNE FIRE EQUIPMENT CO., INC.,
FOR FURNISHING FIRE HOSE FOR THE FIRE
DEPARTMENT AT A TOTAL COST OF S17,834.00;
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER
TO INSTRUCT THE PURCHASING DEPARTMENT TO
ISSUE PURCHASE ORDERS FOR THIS MATERIAL
TO BE FUNDED BY THE GENERAL FUND UNDER THE
1975-76 FISCAL BUDGET.
WHEREAS. pursuant to Public Notice, sealed bids were
received June 4, 1976 for furnishing fire hose for the Fire
Department; and
WHEREAS. invitations were mailed to twenty-three (23)
potential suppliers and three (3) bids were received; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Fire Department recom-
mend that the hid from Biscayne Fire Equipment Co., Inc. be accepted
as most advantageous hid to the City at a total cost of $17,834.00:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI. FLORIDA:
Section 1 The bid received from Biscayne Fire Equip
ment Co., Inc., be, and it is hereby, accepted as follows:

In response to your request, I am submitting herein my evaluation and recommendation
for Award of Bid on Fire Hose.
0n May 18, 1976, specifications for fire hose and invitations to bid were railed to
23 vendors with bids to be opened on June 4, 1976. Three vendors submitted bids as
follows:

It should be noted that Safety Equipment Company and Bi-Lateral Fire Hose Company did
not bid on all items. Biscayne Fire Equipment Company, however, submitted the lowest
bid on all items and I am recommending that they be awarded the bid to furnish fire
hose to the Department of Fire.
