WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received June 11, 1976 for furnishing a one ton cab and chassis with stake body truck for the Fire Department; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to 20 potential suppliers and 4 bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds are available from the 1975-76 Federal Revenue Sharing Fund; and WHEREAS, this truck is to replace a 16 year old vehicle that is used for the delivery of supplies and miscellaneous equip - "DOCUMENT INDEX ITEM 1;10 ' � WHEREAS, the City Manager recommenc.s that_kh� &ward be made to GMC Truck & Coach Division for furnishing a one ton cab and chassis with stake body truck, at a total cost of $7,158.25, as it was the most advantageous bid received by the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The June 11, 1976 bid of GMC Truck & Coach Division for furnishing the Fire Department with a one ton cab and chassis with stake body truck, at a total cost of $7,158.25, is hereby accepted; allocating funds therefor from the 1975-76 Federal Revenue Sharing Funds. June 23, 1976 FILE Recommendation - Bid #75-76-102 0ne Ton Cab, Chassis w/Stake Body Truck REFERENCES ENCLOSURES: In response to your request, I am submitting herein my evaluation and recommendation for Award of Bid on the One Ton Cab, Chassis with Stake Body Truck. 0n May 25, 1976, specifications for the truck and invitations to bid were mailed to 20 vendors, with bids to he opened on June 11, 1976. Four vendors submitted bids, as follows: Vendor Bid Trail Dodge $7,030.34 (1976). GMC Truck & Coach Division Tally Embry Ford Friendly Ford It should be design, new, a 1977 Model Model. $7,158.25 (1977) $7,160.75 (1976) $7,168.52 (1976). GMC was the only vendor to offer while the bids submitted by the other three vendors was for a 1976 Although TrailDodge is the lowest bidder, it is our recommendation that the bid be awarded to GMC. The small difference of $127.91 should more than pay for the newer model and design. The additional 30 days on the delivery date and the minor excep- tions are insignificant, in our opinion, particularly since they are offering a later model.
