IN THE AMOUNT OF $146,200 FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF 46 WEST FLAGLER MINI -PARK; ALLOCATING THE AMOUNT OF $146,200 FROM THE ACCOUNT ENTITLED "PUBLIC PARKS AND RECREATIONAL FACILITIES BOND FUND" TO COVER THE PROPOSED CONTRACT COST; ALLOCATING FROM SAID ACCOUNT THE AMOUNT OF $2,924 TO COVER THE COST OF PROJECT EXPENSE; ALLOCATING FROM SAID ACCOUNT THE AMOUNT OF $2,924 TO COVER SUCH ITEMS AS ADVERTISING, TESTING LABORATORIES AND POSTAGE; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH SAID FIRM. WHEREAS, on January 9, 1975, the City Commission passed Resolution 75-19 authorizing the administration to negotiate a contract for professional services for the develop- ment of 46 WEST FLAGLER MINI -PARK with O'Leary -Shafer and Associates; and WHEREAS, on April 10, 1975, the City Commission passed Resolution 75-342 authorizing the City Manager to enter into an agreement with the consultant, O'Leary -Shafer and Associates; and WHEREAS, the consultant, O'Leary -Shafer and Associates, has completed the Contract Document Phase of the project; and WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice 6 sealed bids were received on June 9, 1976 for the construction of 46 WEST FLAGLER MINI -PARK; and WHEREAS, the City Manager reports that the $146,200 bid of C.A. Davis, Inc. is the lowest responsible bid and recommends_ „B� -��I[ T IN DEX 1ft�,t� �_1 that a contract be awarded to said firm; and !ILI'i 1;3. WHEREAS, funds are available for allocation from the "PUBLIC PARKS AND RECREATIONAL FACILITIES BOND FUND" for the proposed amount of the contract, for project expense, and for such items as advertising, testing laboratories and postage; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The June 9, 1976 bid of C. A. Davis, Inc. in the amount of $146,200 for construction of 46 WEST FLAGLER STREET MINI -PARK, namely Base Bid of Proposal, b�_ lump y CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF JUL 217b I RESolutina N3 §Ui bi& is hereby accepted at the price stated therein. Section 2. The amount of $146,200 is hereby allocated from the account entitled "PUBLIC PARKS AND RECREATIONAL FACILI- TIES BOND FUND" to cover the cost of the contract. Section 3. The amount of $2,924 is hereby allocated from the aforesaid account to cover the cost of project expense which includes engineering► surveys and inspection work performed by City Forces. Section 4. The amount of $2,924 is hereby allocated from the aforesaid account to cover the cost of such items as adver- tising, testing laboratories and postage. Section 5. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract on behalf of the City of Miami with C. A. Davis, Inc. for the construction of 46 WEST FLAGLER MINI -PARK. The City of Miami, under the Parks for People Bond Program, is developing an urban park at 46 West Flagler Street. Pursuant to Resolution 75-34Z, the City Manager has entered into an agreement with the Consultant firm of O'Leary -Shafer and Associates for professional services for the design and develop- ment of the park. The Consultant has completed the Contract Document Phase of the project and pursuant to Public Notice, six (6) scaled bids were received on June i9, 1976, for development of the park; C. A. Davis, Inc. Orlando Mendez, Inc. P. N. M. Corp. Marks Brothers Co. Goodwin, Inc. Scope Construction, Inc. $146, 200 148, 900 151, 500 160, 179 169, 990 187, 000 Funds for this development are available and are to be allocated from the Park and Recreation Bond Fund. It is requested that the award be Trade and a resolution be prepared accepting the lowest bid as received from C. A. Davis, Inc., and allocating funds in the amount of $146, 200.
