HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-76-0697R1'C/rb 7/19/76 RESOLUTION NO. 76-697 A RESOLUTION GRANTING FREE USE OF THE MARINE STADIUM BY THE MARINE COUNCIL OF GREATER MIAMI ON SATURDAY, JULY 31, 1976 FROM 10:00 A.M. TO 12:00 NOON FOR THE PRESENTATION OF THE ANNUAL "SEA CIRCUS" EVENT, CO -SPONSORED BY THE CITY OF MIAMI, SUBJECT TO THE MARINE COUNCIL OF GREATER MIAMI OBTAINING LIABILITY INSURANCE IN SUCH AMOUNTS FROM APPROVED CARRIERS AS DEEMED APPROPRIATE FOR THE PROTECTION OF THE CITY. WHEREAS, the City of Miami is the co-sponsor with the Marine Council of Greater Miami in the presentation of the annual "Sea Circus" event; and WHEREAS, the City of Miami, in the past, has given use of the stadium, administrative staff, communication technicians, sound engineers, cleanup, electricity, and other related services free of charge, excluding charges for insurance; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. Free use of the Marine Stadium by the Marine Council of Greater Miami is hereby granted for Saturday, July 31, 1976 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 noon for the presentation of the annual "Sea Circus", co -sponsored by the City of Miami, subject to the Marine Council of Greater Miami obtaining liability insurance in such amounts and from approved carriers as the City Manager deems appropriate for the protection of the City. At his time the 1!1 th annual prew)entation of. the "Sea Circus", the Marine Council's safety afloat shoe, will be held. We respectfully ask that you reciuest the City Commission to approve this reservation, which, as in the past, includes the City of M=i-:Mi :.s a sponsor of the event and has included tne free use of the stadium and all direct costs including event personnel. In addition, we request that the City provide as part of its insurance policy, insurance for this event payable by the I':arine Council in the sum of approximately .; 35,00.
