RESOLUTION NO. 76-694
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE COMPLETED
WORK OF C. A. DAVIS, INC. FOR THE PARKS -
HARD SURFACE COURTS - 1974 AT A TOTAL
COST OF $185,234; ASSESSING $1,440 AS
LIQUIDATED DAMAGES FOR OVERRUN OF CONTRACT
TIME; AND AUTHORIZING, AFTER ALL ADJUSTMENTS,
A FINAL PAYMENT OF $17,668.40.
1975 between the City of Miami and C. A. Davis, Inc. for PARKS
HARD SURFACE COURTS - 1974; and
WHEREAS, the work has been satisfactorily completed
and C. A. Davis, Inc. has furnished the required documents
certifying that all bills for labor and materials have been
paid in full in connection with the aforesaid contract; and
WHEREAS, liquidated damages in the amount of $1,440
for overrun of contract time should be deducted from the final
payment due the contractor; and
WHEREAS, the
Department of Public Works recommends
that the completed work be accepted and final payment made to
the contractor;

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE rcuMmIgS
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The completed work performed by C. A.
Davis, Inc. under contract dated January 16, 1975 for the
PARKS - HARD SURFACE COURTS - 1974 at a total cost of $185,234
is hereby accepted.
Section 2. There is hereby assessed against the
contractor the sum of $1,440 as liquidated damages for overrun
of contract time.
Section 3. The proper officials of the City of
Miami are hereby authorized and directed to pay C. A. Davis,
Inc., after deductions, a balance of $17,668.40 as full and

final payment for all work performed and materials furnished
for PARKS - HARD SURFACE COURTS - 1974.

Two new concrete tennis courts and a new asphaltic
basketball court. at Bryan Park (SW 23 Avenue & 13 St rl_.'-,t) ;
Two new concrete tennis courts complete with iightirtc;
and fencing; and replacing existinr asphaltic aprons and
backcourts with concrete slabs nrl existing tennis courts

has furnished the required dccument3 certifying that all hills
for labor, materials, etc., rave been paid in full in connection
with the aroresaid contract.
We are recommending that $1,L40 be deducted from the final payment
to the contractor. The project was completed within the contract
amount, at a total cost or $385,2u.
