INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF $37,500.00, FOR FURNISHING
APPROXIMATELY 40,000 SQUARE FEET OF INTERLOCiKING
PAVING BRICKS FOR TliE BAYFRONT PARK AREA; ALLOCA-
TIvG T;IE AMOUNT OF $37,500.00 FROM THE FEDERAL
GRANT BAYFRONT PARK DEVELOPMENT TITLE 10, GRANT
NO. 04-31-02014, TO COVER TH,. COST OF TIIIS PROJECT;
AND AUTHORIZI:JG TaE CITY .MANAGER TO EXECUTE A
CONTRACT UITH SAID FIRM.
WHEREAS, sealed bids were received on ilay 25, 1976, for
Bid No. 75-76-96, for furnishing to the Parks and Recreation
Department, approximately 40,000 square feet of interlocking
paving bricks for Bayfront Park; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager reports that the $37,500.00
bid of Paver Systems, Inc. is the only acceptable bid meeting
the specifications, and recommends that a contract be awarded
to said firm; anC
WHEREAS, funds are available for allocation from the Federal
Grant Bayfront Park Development Title 10, Grant No. 04-31-02014;
and
WHEREAS, this paving system is to be used on special areas
containing monuments and ornamental trees within the Park, and
the Department of Parks and Recreation“Tuym&qh MilFGA,ity
Manager's recommendation;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED 3Y THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The May 25, 1976 bid of Paver Systems, Inc.,
at a total cost of $37,500.00, for furnishing to the Department
of Parks and Recreation approximately 40,000 square feet of
interlocking paving bricks for the Bayfront Park area, be and
the same is hereby accepted.
Section 2. Tic amount of $37,500.00 is hereby allocated
from Federal Grant Bayfront Park Development Title .10, Grant
r ,
No. 04-31-02014.
Section 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
enter into a contract on behalf of the City of Miami with
Paver. Systems, Inc. for furnishing approximately 40,000 square
feet of interlocking paving bricks to the Department of Parks
and Recreation for the Bayfront Park area, as specified in said
Bid No. 75-76-96.

Pursuant to Public Notice, sealed :yids were received
May 25, 1975 for furnishing approximately 40,000 square
feet of interlocking paving bricks for the 3ayfront Park
by the Parks and Recreation Department.
Invitations were mailed to :six (6) potential suppliers
and two (2) bids were received as follows:

It is recommended that Bid 175-76-96, Interlocking
Paving Bricks for Bayfront Park Phase I Development,
be awarded to Paver Systems Lncorporated, in the
amount of $37, 500.
The other bidder, Doby Brick and Supply, was rejected
due to the following reasons:
1. Substitute brick does not comply with
design specified and required.
2. Substitute brick does not comply with
compressive str ength specified.
