RESOLUTION NO, 76-'667
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY ATTORNEY
AND THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A
CONTRACT WITH MALLORY HORTON RETAINING
HIS LEGAL SERVICES AS AN ADVISOR AND
CONSULTANT IN CONNECTION WITH THE
SOUTHERN BELL TELEPHONE COMPANY FRAN-
CHISE NEGOTIATIONS; FURTHER AUTIORIZING
THE CITY TO COMPENSATE MALLORY HORTON
FOR HIS SERVICESO �CEED THE �ATE OF GROSS AMOUNTOF
PER HOUR, NO
$10,000.00; FUNDS FOR THESE SERVICES ARE
AVAILABLE IN THE OPERATING BUDGET OF THE
CITY LAW DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami and Southern Bell Telephone
Company are in the process of negotiating for a telephone
franchise in the City of Miami; and
WHEREAS, there are many serious legal problems
involved in such negotiations; and
WHEREAS, Mallory Horton has the necessary qualifica-
tions to assist the City in its negotiations; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in CU�oC�1T operating

budget of the Law Department; ITEM N0.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Attorney and the City Manager
be and are hereby authorized to enter into a contract with
Mallory Horton for his legal services as an advisor and consultant
in connection with the Southern Bell Telephone Company franchise
negotiations.
Section 2. The City is hereby authorized to
compensate Mallory Horton for his services at the rate of $150.00
er hour, not to exceed a gross amount of $10,000.00.r�

Section 3. Funds for these services are available
