Dear Mayor Ferre:
The Cultural Advisory Council (CACO) of Overtown is a
non-rrofit organization composed of residents and workers
of the overtowm (Central District) community. CACO's purpose
is to r,rornote, encourage, and publicize activities and events
of a cultral/educational nature in the Central District. For
the east few months we have successfully promoted three concerts
and one manic shorn. To celebrate the Picentennial in July the
council is planning- activities which are to be held at two lo-
cations --- Dixie Park, 350 N. V. 3rd. Avenue and Rainbow Village,
20th. Street and N. W. 3rd. Avenue from 1:30 to 8:00 P.M.

We are asking the City of 'iami to co-snonsor this affair
by waiverinr fees for insurance and the use of space for the
concession stands. We would also like to request assistance
from the Parks and Recreation Department in organizing and im-
plementinr the activities. As a final request we would like to
be placed on the July 1, City Commissioners' agenda to formally
voice these requests.
Attached please find a tentative schedule of activities
and events for July 23rd.
