ENCLOSURES
A resolution has been placed on the agenda for the July 1, 1976
Commission Meeting which authorizes the City Manager to implement
a Recreation Support Program.
The City of Miami was the first municipality to implement the Rec-
reation Support Program in Dade County. Since this program began
in 1969, over 100,000 children have participated in the numerous
recreational activities made possible during the summer as a re-
sult of this Federal Grant.
This year's program began on June 21 and will continue through
August 13, 1976. Federal funds up to $103,724.00 will be made
available to the City on a reimbursement basis to provide recre-
ational activities to youth from eight (8) to thirteen (13) years
of age. Activities will include swimming, arts and crafts,
athletics, and special events. Fourteen (14) parks are offering
the program. Those parks with lighting will stay open until 10:00
p.m.
