ENCLOSURES
The FASHION HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT - Bid "A" (Highways) project
has been completed by the Brewer Company of Florida, Inc. The
II
project is bounded by N. W. 2 thru 6 Avenues and N. W. 22 Lane
to N. W. 29 Street and consisted of the construction of
approximately 2.4 miles of streets, including curbs, gutters,
sidewalk and laridscapin2..
This was a unit price contract in the amount of $284,966.25,
including a $10,000.00 Cash Allowance for special items. Total
payments to the contractor will be more than the original contract
amount because of additional replacement of sidewalk and curb and
gutter considered necessary to satisfactorily complete the project.
The extra work exceeded the $10,000.00 Cash Allowance by $24,302.84.
The final construction cost, therefore, is $309,269.09. The work
was completed on time.
We will request preparation of a Resolution accepting the work,
authorizing an increase in the amount of contract in the sum of
$24,302.84, allocating additional Highway Fond Funds in the
amount of $24,302.84 and authorizing final payment to the con-
tractor for the Commission Meeting of July 22, 1976.
