LLOYD commenced his employment with the City of Miami on March 4, 1959, serving as Special Counsel for the City; and WHEREAS, on July 1, 1960 JOHN S. LLOYD became Trial Counsel for the City of Miami; and WHEREAS, JOHN S. LLOYD subsequently served as Assistant City Attorney, Head of the Torts Division and at various times as Acting City Attorney until he assumed the post of City Attorney; and WHEREAS, JOHN S. LLOYD occupied the position of Assistant to the Director of the Law Department from April 1972 until November 1973; and WHEREAS, JOHN S. LLOYD was selected from i the ranks of attorneys in the Law Department to become the first person chosen to serve as full time City Attorney; and WHEREAS, JOHN S. LLOYD has given 17 years of loyal service to the City of Miami; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CO 4MISS IO 0 "DOCUMENT IN % CITY OF MIA:•II , FLORIDA: --- ;, ITEM f�0. Section 1. June 17, 1976 is hereby proclaimed as "JOHN S. LLOYD DAY" on the occasion of his retirement. The City Commission, the Law Department and all fellow employees of the City of Miami hereby express their sincere appreciation to JOHN S. LLOYD for his dedication to the post of City Attorney, his countless accomplishments during his tenure of office and hereby wish huna happy and carefree retirement.
