RESOLUTION NO. 76-570
A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE PLAN OF
MRS. LEWIS ROSENSTEIL FOR A BICENTENNIAL
PILGRIMAGE TO EUROPE THIS YEAR BY MEMBERS
OF THIS COMMUNITY TO VISIT BATTLEFIELDS
WHERE AMERICAN SOLDIERS HAVE FOUGHT AND
DIED FOR THE CAUSE OF FREEDOM AS A FITTING
AND APPROPRIATE OFFICIAL BICENTENNIAL
FUNCTION.
WHEREAS, the celebration of our Nation's 200th
Birthday is an occasion to cherish our past with pride
and look to our future with hope; and
WHEREAS, the plan of MRS. LEWIS ROSENSTEIL, a
member of our community, calling for a pilgrimage to Europe
this year to visit the European battlefields presents a
unique opportunity to observe the Bicentennial Anniversary
of our Country's founding;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The plan of MRS. LEWIS ROSENSTEIL for
a Bicentennial Pilgrimage to Europe this year by members
of this community to visit European battlefields where
American soldiers have fought and died for the cause of
freedom is hereby acknowledged as a fitting and appropriate
official Bicentennial function and is accordingly hereby
so recognized.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 9 day of JUNE
1976.
