RESOLUTION NO. 73-547
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE
FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, FOOD
AND NUTRITION MANAGEMENT TO IMPLEMENT A FREE
SUMMER LUNCH PROCRM T I CTT -OWNED PiZOGRAMS.
WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Education,
Food and Nutrition Management will implement a Summer Lunch
Program commencing on June 21, 1976 and ending on August 13,
1976; and
WHEREAS, twenty-five (25) playgrounds will be
involved; and
WHEREAS, a minimum of 190,600 lunches will be
served for the eight (8) week program; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation
recommends that the City participate in the Summer Lunch
Program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized
to enter into an Agreement with the Florida Department of
Education, Food and Nutrition Management to implement a free
Summer Lunch Program in the City -owned playgrounds between
June 21, 1976 and August 13, 1976.

ENCLOSURES:
The Summer Lunch Program will commence on June 21
and end on August 13, 1976.
This year twenty-five (25) of our playgrounds will be
involved for the eight (8) week program, A minimum of
190,600 lunches will be served 'n youths three (3) to
eighteen (18) years of age.
It is now in order for the City Commission to adopt a
resolution authorizing the City Manager to enter into an
Agreement with the Florida Ilepartment of Education. Food
and Nutrition Management, to implement a Summer Lunch
Program.
