A RESOLUTION APPROVING` A ONE (1) YEAR
EXTENSION OE EMPLOYMENT PAST THE AGE
OF SEVENTY-TWO (72) FOR HARRY PEARLMAN,
WATCHMAN, DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC FACILITIES,
EFFECTIVE ON HIS BIRTH DATE, MAY 28, 1976
THROUGH MAY 28, 1977, WITH THE PROVISION
THAT IN THE EVENT OF A ROLLBACK OR LAYOFF,
MR. PEARLMAN, RATHER THAN A JUNIOR EMPLOYEE,
WOULD BE AFFECTED.
WHEREAS, the Executive Secretary, Civil Service
Board, on April 27, 1976, unanimously recommended the approval
of employment past the age of seventy-two (72) for HARRY
PEARLMAN, Watchman, Department of Public Facilities; and
WHEREAS, the City Physician has determined that
the physical condition of said HARRY PEARLMAN is satisfactory
for continued employment;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. A one (1) year extension of employment
past the age of seventy-two (72) is hereby granted for HARRY
PEARLMAN, Watchman, Department of Public Facilities, effec-
tive on May 28, 1976 to May 28, 1977, with the provision that
in the event of a rollback or layoff, MR. PEARLMAN, rather
than a junior employee, would be affected.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 27 day of MAY
1976.

ENCLOSURES:
At its meeting of April 27; 1976, the Civil Service Board considered the request
of Harry Pearlman, Watchman, Department of Public Facilities, for an extension
of employment for a period of one (1) year, to be effective May 28, 1976 to
May 28, 1977.
The Board noted that Mr. R. L. Jennings, Director, Department of Public Facilities,
has recommended approval of this request, and that Dr. L. A. Toto, City Physician,
has found Mr. Pearlman physically qualified to continue employment for the ad-
ditional year.
The Board voted unanimously to approve the request, with the provision that in the
event of a rollback or layoff, Mr. Pearlman, rather than a junior employee, would
be affected, noting this is in accordance with past policy.

Mr. Harry Pearlman, who is classified as Watchman
at the Orange Bowl, has requested continuation of
active service beyond his 72nd birthday, May 28,
1976.
In accordance with Mule II,Section 4 of the Civil
Service Rules and Regulations of the City of Miami,
Florida, it is hereby recommended that Mr. Pearlman
be retained on active service. During his years of
service with this department, Mr. Pearlman has per-
formed his duties intelligently, faithfully and
energetically.
