Gohzaie Agenda Item No. 27 RtFERENCE9: ENCLOSURCS: Mr. Oscar E. Gonzalez has requested an appearance before the Miami City Commission relative to the renewal -ofa building permit 'that has expired. The City Administration cannot assist Mr. Gonzalez in his request. The following are pertinent facts involved in this matter. On October 2, 1972, the Building Department issued Building Permit No. 72-12347, which authorized the construction of a12-unit apartment house at 1736 S. W. 19 Street. This permit was extended to the limit authorized by the South Florida Building Code, and atthatpoint in time was voided because work on the project had been abandoned. An inspection of the premises on March 26, 1976, reveals that a foundation has been poured and one layer of blocks placed on the foundation. Recently the architect for this project, Mr. Oscar Gonzalez, requested that the permit be reactivated. The Building Department advised him that they had no administrative authority to reactivate the permit, and that a change in the zoning requirements which now govern the R-4 Zone would require that the number of units be reduced on the property to approximately six.
