RESOLUTION NO, 76,496
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE
CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH
MIAMI-DADE JUNIOR COLLEGE TO PARTICIPATE
JOINTLY IN A [WORK-STUDY PROGRAM UNDER THE
PROVISIONS OF TITLE 1, PART C, SECTION 124,
PUBLIC LAW 88-452, ALSO KNOWN AS THE ECONOMIC
OPPORTUNITY ACT OF 19u4, FOR A PERIOD OF ONE
(1) YEAR, EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 1976; SAID CON-
TRACT TO PROVIDE FOR UP TO 20 STUDENTS TO
WORK AS RECREATION LEADERS IN THE DEPARTMENT
OF PARKS AND RECREATION AND AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO EXPEND FUNDS FOR WAGES NOT
TO EXCEED 20% OF THE TOTAL AMOUNT PAID TO
THESE RECREATION LEADERS.
WHEREAS, the Federal Opportunity Act of 1964 makes
it possible for the City of Miami to acquire student help at
a nominal sum; and
WHEREAS, City officials have been working on an
agreement with Miami -Dade Junior College to participate
jointly in a work-study program under the provisions of
Title 1, Part C, Section 124, Public Law 88-452, also known
as the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964; said contract to
provide for up to 20 students to work as Recreation Leaders
in the Department of Parks and Recreation, for a period of
one (1) year, effective July 1, 1976;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: "DOCUMENT INDEX

Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorize
to execute an agreement with Miami -Dade Junior College to
participate jointly in a work-study program under the
provisions of Title 1, Part C, Section 124, Public Law
88-452, also known as the Economic Opportunity Act of
1964; said contract to provide for up to 20 students
to work as Recreation Leaders in the Department of Parks
and Recreation, for a period of one (1) year, effective

July 1, 19760 and the City Manager is authori2ed to expend
funds for wages not to exceed twenty (20%) percent of the
total amount paid to these Recreation Leaders,
