A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BIb OF GARCIA
EQUIPMENT CORP. IN THE AMOUNT OF' $4,842
FOR THE RIVERSIDE BAPTIST CHURCH BUIt,b-
INGS DEMOLITION 1976; ALLOCATING FUNDS
FROM THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM;
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
A CONTRACT WITH SAID FIRM.
WHEREAS, sealed bids were received April 26, 1976
for the RIVERSIDE BAPTIST CHURCH - BUILDINGS DEMOLITION -
1976; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager reports that the $4,842
bid of Garcia Equipment Corp. is the lowest responsible bid
and recommends that a contract be awarded to said firm; and
WHEREAS, funds have been programmed and budgeted
under the "Community Development Program" for the proposed
amount of the contract, for project expense, and for such
items as advertising, testing laboratories and postage;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF

THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The April 26, 1976 ,bi3 of ar' pment
Corp. in the proposed amount of $4,842 for the project
entitled RIVERSIDE BAPTIST CHURCH - BUILDINGS DEMOLITION -
1976, namely Base Bid of Proposal, based on lump sum bid, is
hereby accepted at the price stated therein, with funds
allocated from the Community Development Program.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized
to enter into a contract on behalf of the City of Miami with
Garcia Equipment Corp. for the RIVERSIDE BAPTIST CHURCH -
BUILDINGS DEMOLITION - 1976.

Bids were received April 260 1976 to demolish
three buildings at the Riverside Baptist Church
site, which is being developed into the Little
Havana Neighborhood Facility. These buildings
do not fit into the planned development and
accordingly have been scheduled for demolition.
As reflected in the tabulation of bids, the
to 4,8I42 bid of Garcia Equipment Corp. is the lowest
responsive bid for Base Bid of the Proposal.
Funds have been programmed and budgeted under the
"Community Development Program" for the estimated
amount of the Contract, for Project Expense, and
for such items as Advertising, Testing Laboratories,
Postage, etc.

DEI•iOLIT:LON 1976" will be received by the City Manager and
the City Clerlc. of The City of Miami., Florida, not later than
2:00 P.M. on the 26thi day of April, 1.976, in the City Clerk's
Office, Fir.st. Floor of the Miami City Hall, 3500 Pan American
Drive, Dinner Key, Miami, Florida. 33133 at which time and
place they willbe publicly opened and read.
The project consists of the demolition and removal of
three buildings (2 - 2 story and 1. - 1 and 2 story CBS structures).
All bids sha1.1be submitted in accordance with the
instructions to Bidders and Specifications. Planes and Spec-
ifications r:ay be obtained from the Office of. the Director,
DepartIlent of Public Works, 3332 Pan American Drive, Miami,
Florida. Plans and specifications are to be returned in good
condition and uni irked within 30 day: after bids have been
received.
Proposal includes the time of performance and Specifi-
cations contain provisions for liquidated damages for failure
to complete the work on time.
The City Comiss:ion reserver the right to waive any
informality in an;; bid, and the City Manager may reject any
or al.lbids, and re -advertise.
