FOLLOW"
WHEREAS, pursuant to Public Notice, sealed bids
were received April 14, 1976 for furnishing swimming pool
c.•'•seL:iicals on a contract basis for a one year period from

WHEREAS, invitations were nailed to 24 potential
suppliers and 8 bids were received as per the attached
tabulation; and
WHEREAS, funds for the purchase of these chemicals
=ro available through the 1975-76 and 1976-77 fiscal budgets;
a n d
WHEREAS, the chemicals are purchased at regular
intervals throughout the year in order to keep the eight
City swimming pools chemically balanced in accordance with
State, County and City Health codes; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation
recommends that the bid of Allied Chlorine and Chemical
Com2a-i•,: and the bid of Clarke Chemical Company be accepted,
on a unit cost basis, as they were the most advantageous
to the City;

REFERENCES:
ENCLOSURES: Tabulation
Pursuant to Public Notice, sealed bids were received
April 14, 1976 for furnishing swimming pool chemicals
on a contract basis for a one year period from date
of award.
Invitations were mailed to twenty-four (24) potential
suppliers and eight (8) bicls were received as per the
attached tabulation.
Funds for the p•_irchase of these chemicals arc avail-
able through the 1975-76 and 1976-77 fiscal budgets.
The cho_ricals are purchased at regular intervals
throughout tl_' year in order to keep the eight City
swimming pools chemically balanced in accordance with
State, County and City Health codes.
It is requested that the award be made and a resolution
he prepared accepting the lowest bids as received from
Alliod Chlorine and Chamical Cccixiny at an appro:tii_mate

in accordance with State, County and City
Health codes
Where The pools are under the Recreation Division
of the Parks ancl Recreation Department.
The eight swimming pools are:

How used - Chemicals are used to maintain correct
chemical content in accordance with Health
codes
Yearly contract Since the City is run on a fiscal year policy
the chemicals are also awarded by bicl on
