$7,5°0.00 FOR PARTIAL FUNDING OF THE 26TH
CONGRESS OF THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE OF THE
AMERICAS TO BE HELD IN MIAMI JUNE 23-26, 1976
WITH MONIES THEREFOR ALLOCATED FROM THE PUBLICITY
AND TOURISM DEPARTMENTAL BUDGET ADVERTISING

ITEM NO.
WHEREAS, the Chamber of Commerce of the Americas
IUDEX
was founded in 1948 in an effort to create and promote mutually
advantageous business relations between the nations of the
Americas, and to serve as an international public relations
arm of all member chambers and affiliated firms; and
WHEREAS, in light of this year's Bicentennial celebration
in the United States, the City of Miami was selected as the
site for the 26th Congress of the Chamber to be held June
23-26, 1976 which will undertake various critical tasks in
our effort to promote the free enterprise system in this
hemisphere; and
WHEREAS, this Congress will result in a direct benefit
to Miami by providing a continuous base of economic growth
and future publicity value to the City by attracting both
business and tourism from the participating nations; and
WHEREAS, this program wilibe an integral part of the
ongoing efforts by the City's Publicity Department, which is
trying to attract a healthy economic base for downtown Miami
and the community in general;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1, The sum of $7,500.00 is hereby authorized
to be expended for partial funding of the 26th Co
