A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF
$10,000 FOR PARTIAL FUNDING OF THE OCCUPATION
PERFORMANCE PROGRAM CONDUCTED BY THE. COMMUNITY
SERVICES DIVISION OF THE DADE COUNTY FEDERATION
OF LABOR, AFL-CIO, WHICH PROVIDES AN ALCOHOLISM
EDUCATIONAL INFORMATION AND REFERRAL. SERVICE
TO THE COMMUNITY; WITH MONIES THEREFOR ALLOCATED
FROM FEDERAL REVENUE SHARING FUNDS,
WHEREAS, the Community Services Division of the
Dade County Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO was incorporated
on January 2, 1975 as a non-profit corporation to provide
an early intervention and prevention service to alcoholics
and problem drinkers; and
WHEREAS, alcoholism today is the most serious health
problem in the United States effecting the lives and job
performance of 10% of the populati.on and work force; and
WHEREAS, the herein program is not pro -management
or pro -labor but pro-patisit and is geared toward using the
best treatment that is available to arrest the disease of
alcoholism and enable people to lead normal and effective

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The sum of $10,000 is hereby authorized
to be expended for partial funding of the Occupation Perform-
ance Program conducted by the Community Services Division of
the Dade County Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO,which provides
an alcoholism educational information and referral service
to the community; with monies therefor allocated from Federal
