The uniform contract is necessary to provide new and replacement uniforms for the
Fire Department personnel during the calendar year 1976.

vendors due to complications that Could result in fittings and the required addi-
tional travel to two differentparts of the City by Fire Department personnel..
It is reconded that a resolution be prepared and the entire bid be awarded to
Lamar Uniforms for the furnishing of uniforms for the Depzwtuent of Fire for a

Lamar Uniform Company is the lowest bidder on all but six items. In addition, by
applying the unit prices to the anticipated minimum quantities to be purchased, La-
mar Uniform Company is still the lowest bidder.
It is not recommended that the award of this bid be divided between two different
vendors, as this would bring about complications in budget control in addition to the
inconvenience, time and cost factor of employees having to travel to different parts
of the City for their uniform equipment.
Therefore, I recommend that the award of the contract for the Fire. Department uniforms
go to the Lamar Uniform Company.
