A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND CONFIRMING THE ACTION
TAKEN BY THE CITY MANAGER IN THE SUBMISSION OF
A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE JOSEPH P. KENNEDY, JR.
FOUNDATION FOR A DAY CAMP PROGRAM AND AUTHOR-
IZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT THE GRANT AND
TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY CONTRACTS AND AGREE-
MENTS TO IMPLEMENT THE PROGRAM UPON RECEIPT
OF THE GRANT.,
BE IT RESOLVED BY TIIE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The action taker by the City Manager
in the submission of a grant application to The Joseph P.
Kennedy, Jr. Foundation for a Day Camp Program is herel;y
approved and confirmed.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized
to accept the Grant and execute the necessary contracts and
agreements to implement the program upon receipt of the
Grant.

1976.

ENCLOSURES:
I have submitted an application to the Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr.
Foundation requesting $2, 000 to help support our annual day
camp program for the mentally retarded. No additional City
funds will be necessary to acquire these foundation funds.
Four two -week camp sessions will be provided to approximately
one hundred severely and profoundly retarded young persons be-
tween four and twelve years of age, Passing the resolution will
allow me to enter into the necessary contracts and agreements
to accept the award and implement the program.
