A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO REQUIRE THAT THE TENANTS OF DINNER KEY MARINA PIER 5 VACATE THEIR BERTHS FOR THE PERIOD BEGINNING OCTOBER 13, 1976 AND ENDING OCTOBER 21, 1976, AND THAT THEIR DOCKAGE PAYMENTS BE WAIVED FOR THAT PERIOD OF TIME WITH NO LOSS OF DOCKAGE RIGHTS .OR SENIORITY; AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONTRACT WITH THE EXPOSITION CORPORATION OF AMERICA FOR THE USE OF PIER 5 FOR SAID PERIOD OF TIME FOR A FEE TO BE NEGOTIATED BETWEEN THE CITY MANAGER AND EXPOSITION CORPORATION OF etc' iPPORTI\IE AMERICA. J U �✓ DOCUMEN FOLLOW" WHEREAS, Exposition Corporation of America has once again, by their letter of January 23, 1976,requested use of the City of Miami Dinner Key Marina Pier 5 for their in -the -water boat display during the Miami Dinner Key Boat Show which runs from October 15 - 20, 1976; and WHEREAS, City Commission direction with regard to tenant vacation of Pier 5 is required under terms of the tenant's dockage agreements; and WHEREAS, the Department of Public Facilities recom- mends that Exposition Corporation of America be permitted to utilize Pier 5 inasmuch as the Boat Show is an asset to the City of Miami and Exposition Corporation of America has capably, reliably, and honestly dealt with the City on "DOCUMENT INDEX ITEM NO ...1_._" NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA; Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to require that the tenants of Dinner Key Marina Pier 5 vacate their berths for the period beginning October 13, CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF APR 8 1976 mos CITY OF MIAMI. The Department of Public Facilities recommends adoption of the attached Resolution inasmuch as the boat show is an asset to the City of Miami and Exposition Corporation of America has capably, reliably, and honestly dealt with the City on past occasions.
