FOLLOW" WHEREAS, many times a year, trees in the center and side parkways of Miami streets are destroyed in traffic accidents or for other reasons require replacements; and WHEREAS, in the 1975-76 Budget the amount of $4,000.00 was provided for use by the Department of Public Works in replacing such trees; and "DOCUMENT I DEX ITEM NO `V ' WHEREAS, the City Manager has approved a p a which payments for trees damaged in traffic accidents shall be credited to the budget account to provide a revolving fund account; and WHEREAS, pursuant to due public notice and the mailing of specifications to 31 firms, Bid Quotations were received on February 23, 1976, from 4 firms; and WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that the Bid Quo- tations of Everglades Sod & Landscaping, Inc., Melrose Nursery & Soils Company, Westside Nursery & Garden Supply, Inc. and Pestonit Nursery & Flowers, Inc. be accepted as the bids most advantageous to the City, and recommends that purchase orders be issued as needed to meet City requirements subject to avail- ability of funds; CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF MAR25 hiCOW flQK NQl ‘1 l.,,(,,,. xEM .. , •.•..e•..e,r NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, ?LORIDA: Section 1. The bid quotations of February 23, 1976 from Everglades Sod & Landscaping, Inc., for a 15' Gumbo Limbo tree; Melrose Nursery & Soils Company, for a 15' Cabbage Palm, a 10' Malay Coconut Palm and a 5' Greywood Adonidia Palm; a Westside Nursery & Garden Supply, Inc., for a 15' Black Olive tree, a 15' Mahogany tree, a 5' Greywood Royal Palm, a 10' Greywood Royal Palrn and a 20' Greywood Royal Palm; and Pestonit Nursery & Flowers, Inc. for a 15' Oak Tree and a 15'Bottle Brush tree, for FURNISHING AND PLANTING TREES - 1976, are hereby accepted. Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to issue purchase orders as needed to meet the City's requirements for replacing trees in the center and side park- ways of City streets which are destroyed by traffic accidents or otherwise, subject to the availability of funds. Section 3. Funds received by the City in payment for the abovementioned destroyed trees shall be credited to the account to create and maintain a revolving fund account for tree replacement.
