RESOLUTION NO, 76-256
A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF
AN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE AS CONCEPTUAL-
IZED BY THE MARTIN LUTHER KING BOULEVARD BUSINESS
ASSOCIATION FOR THE DR, MARTIN LUTHER KING
BOULEVARD TO WORK IN•COOPERATION WITH THE CITY
OF MIAMI'S ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR,
THE MARTIN LUTHER KING BOULEVARD COORDINATING
COMMITTEE, THE MODEL CITIES BOARD AND THE OTHER
APPROPRIATE PRIVATE AND PUBLIC AGENCIES IN THE
CITY AS A FORWARD STEP IN THE ECONOMIC DEVELOP-
MENT OF THE CITY OF MIAMI AND AUTHORIZING THE
CITY'S ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR TO
FULLY COOPERATE WITH THE AFORESAID ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE.

WHEREAS, the Martin Luther King Boulevard is one of
the important areas in the City of Miami; and
WHEREAS, the potential to develop the Boulevard into
a more viable commercial, industrial and tourist area, is very
real; and

WHEREAS, City of Miami has supported the development
of the Boulevard through the years in various ways; and
WHEREAS, the City Administration is now beginning a
program of economic development designed to raise the economic
level of the City; and
WHEREAS, the Martin Luther King Boulevard Business
Association is proposing the establishment of an economic develop-
ment coordinating committee to promote the development of the
Boulevard;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The establishment of an Economic Development
Committee as conceptualized by the Martin Luther King Boulevard
Business Association for the Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard
to work in cooperation with the City of Miami's Economic Develop-
ment Coordinator, the Martin Luther King Boulevard Coordinating

Committee, the Model Cities toard and the other appropriate
private and public agencies in the City be and the same is
hereby recognized as a forward step in the economic development
of the City of Miami, Florida.
Section 2. The City of Miami's Economic Development
Coordinator is hereby authorized to fully cooperate with the
aforesaid Economic Development Committee.
