ENCLOSURES:
On March 12, 1975, a motion was passed (75-248) which declared your
intention to provide matching funds in the amount of $45,000 for ac-
quiring a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, previously
designated for Interama, in connection with the development of Bicen-
tennial Park. Since that time, the City has been awarded the grant
which will pay part of the cost to have David von Schlegell construct
and supervise the installation of a stainless steel sculpture in Bi-
centennial Park. Mr. Schlegell's total bill will be $90)000. Edward
Stone and Associates will prepare the site for the sculpture.
In order to meet the dollar -for -dollar match requirements of the grant
and pay Mr. Schlegell for his services, a sum of $45,000 has been iden-
tified in the Parks for People Bond. Fund. A resolution will be intro-
duced at the March 4th. Commission Meeting authorizing the appropriation
of $45,000 from the Parks for People Bond Fund as matching funds for
this grant.
