The City Manager was authorized to enter into a contract with the Burroughs Corporation for the computer hardware and software services by Resolution No. 75-1179. The implementation phase of the conceptual design proposed by Peat, Marwick and Mitchell consists of developing and implementing the Payroll/ Personnel System, the Budget Preparation System and the Program Management System. The implementation of these systems and procedures will provide the keystone for the continuing development of a City-wide resource management system in the years ahead. This system will be developed jointly by the consultant and the staffs of the Finance and Management Services Departments. Funds are available from previously authorized Federal Revenue Sharing funds and studies have been conducted by Booz, Allen & Hamilton which pointed out that costs for implementation would be approximately $650, 000. The contractual cost for this phase of implementation will not exceed $150, 000 with the anticipation from that study that this phase would be between $100, 000 and $200, 000 for the implementation of the software, which will include the Payroll/Personnel System, the Budget Preparation System, and the Program Management System.
