Section 1. The bid of International Fiberglass Industries received on January 26, 1976 for furnishing portable docks for Morningside Park, in the amount of $6,841.11, for the Parks and Recreation Department, is hereby accepted and the City Manager is authorized and directed to instruct the Purchasing Division to issue a purchase order therefor. Invitations were railed to thirty-two (32) potential suppliers and four (4) bids were received as folios: International Fiberglass Industries Betz & Company Ebsary Foundation Co. Dock & Marine Construction, Inc. $6,841.11 7,650.00 8,700.00 9,740.00 International Fiberglass Industries bid meets all specifications with the exception of substituting Grade 2 yellow pine for Grade 1 on the decks. The Department of Parks and Recreation waives this exception because the Grade 2 yellow pine is readily avail- able, and the Grade 1 could require up to six months for delivery. Additionally, Grade 2 yellow pine has been used quite extensively for portable dock decking and has proved satisfactory. The Portable Docks mill be a new installation at Nbrningside Park and funds are provided in the 1972 Parks for People Bond Progrrn. It is recommended that a resolution be prepared and the award be rode to the lowest bidder, International Fiberglass Industries, in the ameunt of $6, 843..11.
