RESOLUTION NO. 76-217
A RESOLUTION WAIVING THE RENTAL FEE FOR USE OF
THE BAYFRONT AUDITORIUM ON JULY 11, 13, 1976,
IN CONNECTION WITH THE ACTIVITIES OF THE FOUR-
TEENTH ANNUAL BOWLING TOURNAMENT OF THE AMERICAS
WHEREAS, the use of the Gulfstream Room of the Bayfront
Auditorium has been requested from 7-11 P.M. on both Sunday,
July 11, 1976 and Tuesday, July 13, 1976 by the Department of
Publicity & Tourism in connection with activities of the 14th
annual Bowling Tournament of the Americas; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami is a co-sponsor of this event
which is one of the major projects of the Department of

WHEREAS, this tournament is the number one icity

Tourism in South and Central America and, since its beginning
in 1963, it has achieved great prestige among the nations
and territories of the Western Hemisphere; and
WHEREAS, each year this event draws representatives from
more than a score of countries providing Miami with thousands
of dollars in promotional value as well as enhancing our summer
tourist program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The rental fee for use of the Bayfront
Auditorium on July 11, 13, 1976, in connection with the
activities of the Fourteenth Annual Bowling Tournament of

It is requested that the following be considered for placing
on the commission agenda:
Use of the Guifstream Room of the Bayfront Auditorium is
requested from 7-11 p.m. on both Sunday, July 11, 1976, and
Tuesday, July 13, 1976, in connection with activities of
the 14th annual Bowling Tournament of the Americas.
Since the City of Miami is a co-sponsor of the event which
is one of the major projects of the Department of Publicity
and Tourism, it is requested that auditorium rental fees be
waived for these evenings.
The tournament is the number one publicity and promotional
project of the department in South and Central America and,
since its beginning in 1963, has achieved great prestige among
the nations and territories of the Western Hemisphere. Each
year the event draws representatives from more than a score of
countries and is as much a goodwill activity as a sports event.
The Bowling Tournament of the Americas is one of our top
international promotional events, which provides Miami with
thousands of dollars in promotional value as well as enhancing
our summer tourist program.
